RETURN VALUE On success, the converted value is returned. If nothing was found to convert, zero is returned. On overflow or underflow INTMAX_MAX or INT- MAX_MIN or UINTMAX_MAX is returned, and errno is set to ERANGE. ATTRIBUTES Multithreading (see pthreads(7)) The strtoimax() and strtoumax() functions are thread-safe with excep- tions. These functions can be safely used in multithreaded applica- tions, as long as setlocale(3) is not called to change the locale dur- ing their execution. CONFORMING TO C99, POSIX.1-2001.
